You may request an Absentee Ballot from the Henry County Board of Elections by:

  • Completing this (Absentee Ballot Application) and mailing to the Board of Elections. (Absentee Ballot is in Adobe .PDF format, if you need Adobe Acrobat, click here.)
  • Calling the Board of Elections at (419) 592-7956 and requesting an Absentee Ballot Application be mailed to you.
  • IN OHIO A VOTER MAY VOTE ABSENTEE WITH OUT ANY REASON.

You may return your Absentee Ballot to the Henry County Board of Elections by:

  • Mailing it to the Board of Elections.
  • You or a relative may hand-deliver it to the Board of Elections.

For your absentee ballot to be counted, it must be received as follows:

  1. If cast from anywhere in the U.S. and you return it by mail, it must be postmarked* (the day before the election) and received by the board of elections no later than 10 days after the election. 
  2. If you return it in person or if a near relative delivers it to the board for you, it must be delivered to the board of elections no later than the close of polls (polls close at 7:30 p.m.) on Election Day.
  3. If you are a voter outside the U.S. on Election Day, your ballot envelope must be signed and postmarked by the close of polls on Election Day and received by your county board of elections not later than the 10th day after a special or general election.

* Postmarked does not include a date marked by a postage evidence system such as a postage meter.
